From September 14-16 2016 the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) hosted a community oft he world’s foremost universities for the third annual World Symposium on Sustainable Development at Universities, under the topic of “Designing Tomorrow’s Campus: Resiliency, Vulnerability and Adaptation”.
The SUCCEED Network project was presented in this event by Mrs Denise Galvin of the University of Alicante who gave a talk titled “Building Climate Change Resilience in East African Campuses”.
The 1st National Round Table Forum on “Energy Accessibility and Efficiency in Tanzania” was held on August 2nd at Mzumbe University in Morogoro, in the framework of the ACP S&T project ENRICH & the Edulink project SUCCEED Network.
On July 5th & 6th 2016 the 3rdJoint Stakeholders’ Conference“Lessons learned and future perspectives” was held at the ACP House in Brussels, organised in the framework of the EU-ACP collaborative programmes (Edulink II, ACP Science and Technology Programme II, ACP Caribbean & Pacific Research Programme for Sustainable Development).
On July 7th the University of Rwanda took another step towards establishing a functioning Energy Efficiency Unit with the reception of technical equipment necessary to do Energy Efficiency Audits, financed by the SUCCEED Network project.

The 1st National Round Table Forum on “Energy in Uganda” was held on June 30th at Makerere University in Kampala, in the framework of the ACP S&T project ENRICH & the Edulink project SUCCEED Network.
The event was jointly organized by Makerere University and the Uganda National Council for Science and Technology.
The 1st National Round Table Forum on “Energy accessibility & efficiency in Kenya” was held on May 3rd at the Nairobi Campus of Moi University in the framework of the ENRICH & SUCCEED Network ACP S&T and ACP Edulink projects.
Key to Energy Efficiency are the good practices that relate to activities and programmes that reduce the amounts of energy used by specific end-use devices and systems, without affecting the level of services provided.

The 4th SUCCEED Network Training workshop took place at Makerere University in Kampala, last March 10th – 12th 2015.
The participants (from Makerere University, Moi University, Mzumbe University, Université du Burundi, University of Rwanda and University of Alicante) were welcomed to Makerere University by the Deputy Vice Chancellor of the university, after which the workshop was inaugurated by James Baanabe, the Ugandan Commissioner for Energy Resources at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Development.
