The SUCCEED Network consortium met up again in Kampala (Uganda) in order to conduct the 1st Project Workshop on ‘Energy Efficiency Campus Technologies and Tools Workshop’.
This first workshop falls under the Work package 1 INSTITUTIONAL BUILDING ACTIVITIES, and the main target group were University leaders and top managers who deal with energy efficiency matters on a daily basis.
During two days, participants received an in-depth perspective of current Analysis processes, Policies and Tools that are available for a better Energy Efficiency Campus development.
With the implementation of this 2-day workshop, project participants were able to:
- conduct an analysis after the workshop in order to identify gaps on performance and which tools could be useful for the daily management of the campus
- identify which policies on energy efficiency can be implemented as part of the main university strategic plan
- learn which potential tools can be adapted to the local context in order to improve management processes.
This workshop counted with the participation of Ms. Maria José Torregrosa, who shared her experience and knowledge with the project partners.
This workshop was accompanied with a site visit made to the Centre for Research in Energy and Energy Conservation (CREEC). Ms. Mary Suzan Abbo, Managing Director of CREEC, explained its main activities, research activities and services offered to the local community.
